POPE PTSA PROGRAMS for 2021 - 2022
Community Outreach
Student volunteers earn community service hours by working with non-profit organizations including MUST Ministries, Foster Care Support Foundation, Mostly Mutts, Second Wind Dreams, and United Military Care.
Community Service Scholarships & Grants
Pope PTSA provides several $1,000 Scholarships annually to College-Bound Seniors. In 2020-2021, Pope PTSA provided approximately $10,000 for classroom supplies, clinic supplies, and additional resources.
Exceptional Children
Pope PTSA supports Pope’s students with special needs through funding of events, activities, and
resources.
Hearing & Vision
Cobb County training for Hearing & Vision screeners will be held in early September. Pope High School usually schedules H&V screening for late October. Volunteers will need to be trained in September and work one or more shifts/days in October. For more information, please contact any member of the PTSA Executive Board.
Reflections/Art in Education
Students in grades 9-12 enter their original work of art in the National PTA Reflections program
categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and
visual arts. School-level winner(s) may proceed to district level and state contests.
Youth Services
Red Ribbon Week (October): Encourage making safe decisions regarding drugs, alcohol, and driving through student lunch assemblies with Safe America, Prevent Defense Student Addiction Prevention Program, and AAA.
