PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Did you know that in high school we need more volunteers than in elementary and middle school combined?

There are over 1,564 shifts that the PTSA is responsible for staffing volunteers each school year in the Front Office, PPO, and Counseling office. We aren't above begging - can you please do ONE shift this year?

Please sign up here.

Make sure you have completed your background check which can be completed here.

DESCRIPTION OF VOLUNTEER AREAS:

PPO (Pupil Personnel Office) -This office handles all things related to students (absences, check-ins, check-outs, dropping off forgotten items, etc). Here you will interact with students and assist them with checking in or out. We need to have two volunteers for each shift so the office can run smoothly. It is a great way to learn all of the processes of high school and to get to know some of the staff and administration team. It is a good place to sign up with a friend too.

Front Office - This office handles everything else that doesn't relate directly to students. You will work closely with Lela Carnes, Front Office Receptionist, and Lisa Hamill, School Secretary. You will answer the phones and direct the calls as needed and help check in and direct visitors. This is a great way to meet a lot of the front office staff, administration team, and understand the processes of high school. If you aren't able to work a full shift, that is fine. Please let us know your availability so we can plan accordingly. We are grateful for any time you can spend volunteering here. You may have some downtime to read a book or get some work done too.

Counseling Office - This position is located in the Counseling Office. Here you will help students make appointments, check in for appointments, answer the phone, and help out the counseling team as needed. This is a great way to learn more about the high school curriculum and options during the high school years. In addition, you'll learn how to help your student prepare for college and beyond, as well as get to know the counseling team. It can be a very busy office at certain times of the year, and slow at other times. You need to make sure you can respect the privacy of the students that you see, as the office handles college/career readiness, academics, and personal issues.
